European Pike Angling Challenge.
The biggest pike ever caught in Ireland was caught in 1890 on Lough Derg. This beauty weighed as much as 41 kilos!
Each year, more than 60 anglers join the Pike Challenge at Lough Derg in an attempt to catch such pride.
While many sponsors offer a wealth of prizes, the participating in the Pike Challenge is still more important than winning.
Each year this event takes place in late September. This year the 20st annual edition will be held on the 20st, 21st and 23rd of September 2010.
Would you like to participate? Book on time your room in the Bed & Breakfast fisHerman because full is full!
Entry fees:
50 Euro if you participate with your own or rental fishingboat.
100 Euro if you participate without a boat so you will be placed in an other angler's boat by lotery. (But never with the same angler during the three competition days.)
This is an individual competition so you don't fish as a team and only one fishing rod is allowed per person.

The prizes will soon be announced on this website but the first prize is always a fishingboat!!
